Console & Arcade

Listen to this blog

Hey family, Podcasters and bloggers!!

I know January is probably already giving you a run for your money already. But indeed time will fill the spaces to make you whole again!! Speaking of time..

Time means everything when you are a gamer!!

First Arcade game for this week is Pac-Man.

Okay well Pac-Man goes all the way back to 1980 but was widely played in the 1990s.

Found in gaming shops and played on Nintendo, Pac-Man was the game that parents and kids could get competitive while spending quality time.

To play Pac-Man the player must guide Pac-Man to eat all the dots on the board before he runs into ghosts. Really simple right? Indeed it is and it’s absolute fun. Players can even take turns.

I remember playing Pac-Man on machines where you had to insert 25 cents to play. When you inserted money you were definitely on a timer which makes the game intense as well. Pac-Man is a game where I have experienced playing the game in an arcade style format and playing by console. I can never forget the Pac-Man sound!!

Pac-Man

Mortal kombat

I think mortal kombat was one of the most played games in 1990s as well. There are so many different versions of mortal kombat…it is insane!! πŸ˜‚ For myself a lot of the versions of mortal kombat were hog wash to me.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‡

I have had better experiences with their older versions. However. While different gaming systems such as PlayStation or others can impact the way you feel about the game through graphics and sound, I tend to like the first and original of anything that is created.

To play mortal kombat, players choose their mortal kombat player to fight each other round for round. Each hit brings down the players energy level. Each player posses speacial moves, powers or the power to inflict an extreme death on their opponent while they watch! Petty huh? 😜

Each gaming system differs when controlling the moves of players, but in the 90s, codes, combinations and moves was the infatuation of the game.

The more you used or memorized all of the players moves and combinations the more likely you were at successfully defeating your opponent.

Famously known for their sound effects, mortal kombat as probably made its way in every household during the 1990s.

So What were your favorite arcade or console games in the 90s or growing up??
